Another fun weekend!

I'm finally getting around to doing a weekend post from last weekend. And what a fun one it was! T slept in all weekend, trying to recover and rest up! She is one busy girl, but she loves every minute of it!

Friday, we went to lunch with daddy. (and baby!) It's always fun having lunch dates with Justin, because we don't get them too often! 

Friday night, we went to the Erie County Fair with a bunch of friends. The girls has a blast, and so did the adults! Animals, rides, country music, tractor pulls, fried fair goodies; what could be better?!

Saturday was a little cloudy and a bit chilly, so we stayed inside most of the morning. Justin washed the cars and mowed the grass, while I cleaned the house and did laundry. Tinley was a big help! That afternoon, the sun came out a little, so we had some outside playtime. 

That evening, we went to dinner with the Lowe's to Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermillion. The kids were so good, we decided to get ice cream afterwards. It's always a fun time with that bunch! (Note: I apologize for being a bad blogger, I didn't get a single picture!)

Sunday, we finally had a nice, warm day with sunshine, so we headed to Kelley's Island for the day with a group of friends. We enjoyed perch sandwiches and Brandy Alexander's at the Pump, strawberry shots at Bag The Moon, and got ice cream at The Caddyshack. It's definitely a different experience being at the island with a baby, but T loved it too. She absolutely loves the water and really enjoyed the boat ride. She sacked out on the way home, and went straight to bed! She was worn out for sure, and so were mommy and daddy! But, it was well worth it!

Tinley normally isn't one for pictures, probably because I take at least 10 a day. (Not kidding!) So lately, I've been catching her on her way downstairs after I get her dressed. Thank you Kelly, for giving me this idea! It definitely works. 

The other day, we had a lunch date with daddy, and I dressed her and her baby in their matching pink chevron dresses from Smocked Auctions. I have to admit, they both looked adorable. I told T she could take her baby with her, and that must have just been the icing on the cake, because she was so happy, and I got some great pics on the way downstairs. She was even posing and saying 'cheese!' 

I thought this would make a great TTT post, so I grabbed our other matching dresses we have from Tickled Pink Boutique in Wilmington, NC, got them both dressed, and we had a little mini photo shoot!



I think it's safe to say she loves matching her baby!

1. Favorite movie, song, or TV show?

This is super hard, because I have tons of favorites of all 3! But, my all-time favorite movie is Dirty Dancing. I remember watching it as a kid (mom and dad, I hope you fast-forwarded thru the risqué scenes! Haha, notice the word fast-forward... oh the days of VHS!) and dancing in my living room. My dad and I had the ending lift nailed. I so enjoyed watching Jennifer Grey on Dancing With the Stars, and I'm pretty sure I cried for a whole day when I found out Patrick Swayze passed away. Okay, I guess I'm kind of giving 2 answers, because I also love the song "Time Of My Life." And now for your viewing pleasure...

 

2. Any funny stories to share that has happened recently?

Having an 18 month-old running around makes for many funny and interesting moments! Lately, she's started to mimic everything we do. If If we're in the car and Justin taps his leg along to the music, she taps her leg. If I snap my fingers, she tries to snap... it's hysterical really. There are no shortage of dull moment in this household!

We are currently potty training. Every time T pee-pees or poo-poos on the potty, she gets a cookie. She knows exactly where they are in the pantry, and after she does her business and flushes, she rushes to the pantry and points up, all while saying "cookie." The other night, she had already gone pee pee, but I guess 1 cookie wasn't enough for her. She ran into the bathroom, flushed the toilet, and then ran over the the pantry, pointing and yelling. Justin and I tried so hard not to laugh, but it was so funny. She didn't get a cookie...

3. Tell us something we don't know about you

In 2008, my best friend, Nicole and I went to Montana and Wyoming on a cattle drive. It was the trip of a lifetime, although during that exhausting week, I would never admit it. Complete with a hail storm, water falls, and sticking a hand up a cow's butt. Yep, ladies and gents, I actually went on a cattle drive, and I had a blast!

4. What is your favorite or go-to outfit?

Hmm... another toughy because I have so many! But, recently, I wore a new Lilly dress that I'm obsessed with. Short in the front, longer in the back, strapless, gold detail, what's not to love? I paired it with a royal blue necklace, gold belt, and gold strappy sandals to make it not too dressy, but still chic. Love it, and can't wait to wear it again!

5. What's the coolest thing you've made? (food, craft, anything)

I like to consider myself a creative person, although lately, I've been slacking in that department. Being creative and artistic is something I hope to instill in Tinley. It's so much fun making homemade gifts. But, my absolute favorite thing I ever made was a scrapbook for Justin. I gave it to him before our wedding. I keep everything. I'm not like a hoarder, but I like to keep souvenirs. I had the piece of paper I gave him with my phone number on it so many years ago (it was actually in HIS wallet!), matches from our first official date, countless plane tickets, napkins, pictures, just so many little mementos that I kept over the years. And I put them all together in a scrap book that took me over a year to make. (I had to do it when he wasn't home, which made it so difficult!) I would like to add some pages to it, but like I said, I have been slack lately. I will get around to it eventually. Until then, I'll continue to save everything. :o)

6. What is the favorite part about marriage? Or what have you learned since being married?

Oh my goodness, so, so many things are my favorite, and I've also learned a lot. I just love sharing my life with someone who makes me smile and laugh all the time. We still have fun together like we did when we first met. And now that we have a daughter, it's a whole new world, but it's so much fun. Justin is the best father, and I love seeing him with Tinley. I've also learned how important communication is, and to compromise. We make a great team.

Happy Birthday Mrs. Opfer!

My best friend Clare is celebrating her birthday today! She has been one busy girl lately, but if anyone loves it and can handle it, she can! She is one of the most positive and fun people you will ever meet. That's probably why we get along so well. We are the exact same. And people tell us we look a lot alike too. I swear, I was asked 10 times at her wedding and reception if I was her sister! "Not by blood," I would say. :o) 

You can tell her anything and she won't judge you. Instead, she'll give you advice, or just laugh at you, in a good way of course. And she will do anything for you at the drop of a dime. She's the best friend anyone could have, and I'm so lucky to call her one of mine.
