GiGi and Papa Jeffy's Visit

My parents came for a long weekend visit during Corey and Clare's wedding, and it was such a huge help having them here. Since I was in the wedding, that meant lot's of running around and preparing, and not having to cart Tinley everywhere was a lifesaver. Thanks guys!

They arrived Wednesday afternoon, and we immediately headed to Manny's, one of our local favorites for lunch. After that, we headed to the grocery store to stock up on a few goodies, and then home to relax and wait for Justin to get home. We had a fish fry that evening, a treat for my parents, since they don't get fried walleye very often. And my hubby makes the BEST! Yum.

Thursday, my mom and I took T to Soak City water park for the day. It was so HOT, we only ended up staying for a few hours, but we had nail appointments that afternoon anyway with the bride-to-be and a few other girls, so it worked out perfectly. It was still a great time, and I know my mom enjoyed playing with Tinley and seeing how much she loves the sand and water! That evening, we went to dinner at another local favorite, Thirsty Pony. I can't believe we've never taken my parents there before! Our friend, TJ met us out for a bit too. It was such a fun night.

Friday included lot's of wedding planning, starting with Jamy and I making breakfast for the salon the next morning and working on some favors, so my mom and Jeff watched Tinley, and Jamy's two girls, Addison and Ashlyn for a bit. They played hard and I know my mom was worn out, but she had fun. That evening, Justin and I went to the rehearsal and dinner, so my parents took Tinley downtown to Water Street for dinner, and then walked around looking at the antique cars. They do that every Friday night downtown, and Jeff was in Heaven! Sandusky is just such a fun place to live in the summer!

Saturday and Sunday flew by with the wedding and preparing to go home, and as always, their trip went by way too fast. I hope they had as much fun as we did, and we can't wait to see them both in October hopefully!

With all the hype about His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, also known as the Royal Baby, it got me thinking about little boy fashion. We all oooh and aghhh at Mama Kate's fashion choices, even when pregnant, and so there's no doubt in my mind that the Prince will take after his mama.

But how would I dress a little man? I'm so used to ruffles and bows and everything pink that I am not even the slightest educated in little boy's fashion. So, I browsed several websites, and here are some things I came up with...

Baby Boy 2

How cute is that bowtie? And those Sperrys? And that cardigan? I just love it all! Mamas of boys, where are your favorite places to shop?

Clare and Corey's Wedding Weekend!

On July 20th, two of our best friends, Clare and Corey, were married! It was the most perfect weekend, starting with the rehearsal dinner Friday night. It was held at one of our local favorites, 800 Club, a place where they make authentic Italian food, including the most delicious bruschetta and alfredo sauce! The owner is a friend also, so there were sweet little personal touches everywhere. It was a great night to kickoff what we all knew would be an amazing weekend!

Saturday morning, bright and early, all the girls headed to the salon at 8:30 for hair and make-up. With 12 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls,  and a bride, it takes a while for everyone to get beautified! We were there for about 3 1/2 hours, but we had a great breakfast set-up, including fruit skewers, chocolate covered strawberries, and a mimosa bar, so time flew by! Besides, this is just one fun group of girls as it is! :o)

After getting our hair and makeup done, it was time to head to the church to get ready. Clare and Corey were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky, and in my opinion, it's one the most beautiful church I've ever seen! It was such a gorgeous backdrop for a sweet, love-filled ceremony for these two.

After the ceremony, the bridal party hopped onto an awesome party bus and headed around town to take some fun pictures before arriving at the reception. I can not wait to see these babies! And the video... I can only imagine! Like I said, FUN group. And an even more fun videographer! He was a personal friend of the couple and he had us all cracking up! That's what your wedding day is all about; having fun with family and friends.

And the fun didn't stop there. We arrived at the reception, which was in a private gated waterfront community under a huge tent. It was great weather, and the rain had finally stopped. Every little detail was thought out, thanks to the bride and groom, and it couldn't have looked more perfect. You could tell they put so much work into everything, including a bar that Corey made by hand out of wood. They really had fun wedding planning. We danced, drank, and laughed well after midnight, and even let some lumineers go, which was a highlight of the night to me. I've seen this done on TV but never in person, and it was such a special moment.

I could not imagine a better weekend for two better people, even if I tried. I was so honored to be a part of their special day, and had a blast! I only hope their marriage and life is a fun as the weekend, and I have a feeling it will be, because they love live, and more importantly, they love each other.

Corey and Clare, I hope you're having a blast in Hawaii, and can't wait to hear all about it when you return safely home! Love you both so much! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Opfer!
