It's The Little Things

It's been a while since I've participated in one of my favorite link ups, so today, I'm linking up with Ashley from Words About Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique for "It's the Little Things."

With little man's arrival getting closer and closer, I've found myself trying to do extra special little things with T, whether it be letting her stay up a little later, having a bedtime snack (as long as she eats a good dinner!), or lay in our bed and watch TV before bedtime- something she's never been able to do before.

She has not once ever slept in our bed, and as a parent, I am very proud of that. I know it's an easy habit to get in to, and an even harder one to break. Yes, of course, there are those mornings when she's up a little earlier than I care to be, so I'll go and get her and bring her back in our room and turn on Disney Junior. But she will not go back to sleep in our bed. I think it's because she's never slept in our bed before, so she thinks it's like a reward when she's in there. She plays and jumps around. Occasionally she'll lay still and watch TV, but fall asleep? Never. I dread the day when we go to a hotel... we'll have to drag along a Pack "N" Play for our 4 year old.

But in all seriousness, I am trying to soak up every moment I can with our sweet girl. She's been the only for over 2 years, and for the longest time, it was just her and I while daddy worked. It is going to be a big adjustment for us all once baby boy arrives, but I do not want her to ever feel left out. After all, she will always be our only baby girl. :o)

So, for now, I'll take in every second I can get with her, even if it does mean staying up a little later and letting her play in our bed before bedtime.

  2. I don't think I would get a wink of sleep if there was a one year old in bed with me. I don't think Aria would much care for it either, not a sunggler that one. I'm with you, I'd rather avoid something that will only be a hard habit to break down the line! Savor those moments as a family of three while you can! What a crazy and fun adventure to be a family of four soon.
