It's The Little Things

Happy Wednesday sweet friends! I'm linking up again with Ashley from Words About Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique for "It's the Little Things." I had so much fun doing this for the first time last week, and reading about everyone's special  little moments. It truly made my day better, and I could not wait for today to roll around to see more of them.

We celebrated Tinley's 2nd Birthday Party a few weekends with our friends and family. I struggled with what to get her because honestly, she has EVERYTHING. I mean, the kid was born a month after Christmas, and is the only child on both sides. And, did I mention Justin and I are both only children as well?! So, if she didn't already get it for Christmas, one of her 4 sets of grandparents would get it for her birthday. Scratch that... 7 sets, including great-grandparents. Ridiculous.

Anyway, Justin and I ended up throwing her party as her gift. We figured she's still too young to know the difference anyway, and we might as well enjoy getting off easy while we can! But, she sure did get some awesome gifts from everyone else! Her favorite gift thus far is a Princess Tent our friends, Justin & Lori, gave her. As she opened it, I thought to myself, "why didn't I think of that?!" Perfect gift!

Ever since Justin and Papaw put her tent up Saturday evening after her party, she has spent every waking minute at home in that thing. She carries her babies in there, her stuffed animals, her pillow, her blanket, her snacks, her juice, her books; heck, I even caught her trying to take her shopping cart in there the other night! She absolutely LOVES it. And every once in a while, she'll even invite mommy and daddy in. I love watching her play by herself. She is so imaginative and I hope that is something that continues throughout her childhood.

"Night night mommy." I'm convinced she would sleep in her tent if we let her!

The  flash was a little bright, but it didn't stop her from taking a time out to say "cheese!"

It truly is the little things like watching your daughter play in a tent that make you smile. :o)

  1. Aw, totally the sweetest!! Love her sweet smile!! Thanks for linking-up!!

  2. I love her sweet face and how she's got all her "friends" in her tent with her! On my gift list for my LO 2nd bday which is coming too fast! Although that does mean it will be May and hopefully warm! :)

  3. So cute! Abigail turned 3 in November and we still haven't ever bought her a birthday present ;) In fact, we didn't do a stocking for her this year either...her grandparents did. The longer we can go without her noticing, the cheaper and easier for me, man!

  4. So sweet! She has such long pretty hair for a 2 year old! Visiting from the link up

  5. You can see how happy she is from these pictures! I absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing with us and I hope to see you back this week (I'm totally late on catching up on last week's posts!)
