I know, I know, it's already Wednesday. I'm a little behind on my weekend post, right? Well, we didn't get home from West Virginia until Monday afternoon, and I wasn't missing another Trendy Tot Tuesday, so you guys will have to settle for a weekend post today; Wednesday.
Anyway, we had a long fun-filled family weekend. We left last Thursday evening for WV and stayed with Justin's parents. It was Tinley's first time being at their house since last November (holy cow!), and her first road trip in a few months, so we weren't sure how she would be. She's at the age now where she doesn't want to sit still, so we were a little nervous. But, pop in a Barney DVD, give her a snack, and she's good to go. We could've driven to California! Thank goodness we have a baby that loves to travel as much as we do.
We arrived late Thursday night. Friday, we spent the day shopping, eating, and visiting with Justin's grandparents. On Saturday, Justin and I, along with Justin's best friend, Anthony, and his wife, Katie, headed to Huntington, about an hour away to participate in The Color Run. If you've never done anything like this before, I highly recommend it! Granted, Justin and I haven't trained for a 5K, nor do we even work out on a regular basis, but it's not strict, or timed, so you're free to run or walk. We ended up doing a little bit of both, and I was so proud of us! We did the race in honor of our good friend, John Huxley, who passed away in May from cancer. We even had team shirts made with our team name, Team Hux. He would've loved it, and I hope we made him proud.
Saturday was also the first WVU football game, so as soon as we were finished with the race, we headed home to Charleston, got cleaned up, put on our gold and blue, and headed back over to the Willard house to watch the game, spend some time at the pool, cookout, and celebrate Katie's birthday! We had a great night with the best of friends and delicious food! Tinley had a great night too. Mamaw and Papaw picked her up after swimming for a bit and took her downtown to see some boats they had in town and to get ice cream. I'm not sure who had more fun?!
On Sunday, we went to lunch with Justin's parents and grandparents, then took Tinley to Chuck E Cheese and Toys R Us. What a day! It's never a dull moment with this bunch, and it was so much fun. We were worn out after the day we had, so for dinner, we just ordered our favorite wings and had a relaxing night in watching football and the race.
Monday morning rolled around, and it was time to leave. We packed the car, and waited until Tinley's nap time to leave. After some goodbye hugs and kisses, we were off. It was a perfect weekend, that like all the other ones, seemed to go by too fast.
